Wow! In a day it is going to be december, how did that happen? I wish I'd written more this year- but I guess it is futile to think about the things I should've done.

I have been swamped with work the past couple of months, but I resolve to write something more about what has been happening with me lately soon.

Promise.

What this week holds..

Sunday, September 15, 2013

This week will be my first week functioning in my new role -somewhat.  This is going to be a pretty busy week - hell week but I am not worried.  I know it will be okay.  Truth is I do not know where to start but I have this calm in me - something I am thankful for.  Check back on me again on Wednesday - I might not be singing this tune. :D

And I think it happened.  It did and I am unsure how to feel except I am grateful.

Manicure-Much

Friday, July 26, 2013

My Instagram feed consists mostly of friends, food and nail polish. My previous post made me want to look at my old albums and check my past manicures. :)  I am not much of a nail-art kind of girl, I am more texture and accent nail.

Here are some..

Polish Polish

Yesterday I kind of organized my nail polish collection.  I looove polish and I try and get a manicure/pedicure every week since high school.  I change my polish color that often - definitely! :)  I was looking at DIY ideas in YouTube and was totally inspired but too lazy to actually "build"something. I ended up salivating on how much nail polish one can have! I wish I have a glass fish bowl but I gotta make do with what I have.  I don't have much anyway. :P

So now I just keep my stuff in 2 ceramic bowls.

I only have a number of bottles which I mix and match and most of these are really gifts from friends and family,

Random Monday

Sunday, July 21, 2013

I know it is just Monday - but I feel so tired already and it seems like I am already falling behind on stuff I need to do.  I've yet to do something very important and the deadline is today, the reason being I am still unsure what to do!!!

My friend Noel gave me an ipod shuffle a few months ago because he was so excited for me to start running.  He did give me my running shoes too :)  but since I have not gotten around to running after that first try I decided I will just use this for my commute. *evil laugh*

I am putting in new albums I have been meaning to listen to, so there. Bastille, Sarah Bareilles, Vampire Weekend!

I am addicted to watching What's in my bag videos in YouTube. I lose hours and hours because of it. Yeah.

Weekend?

Friday, July 19, 2013

It was is a busy week.  I am barely able to scribble something here and I still have to work tomorrow.  I have decisions to make.  I dont know what will happen. I need guidance.  I need a strong heart.

Borough and a tiny bit of Wildflour.

Friday, July 12, 2013

I have been meaning to write about Borough but I guess I forgot and only remembered today because Noel and I ate there for breakfast.  It is a resto/bar in The Podium which I love because it is open 24/7, although you have to get there before 5a if you plan on getting stuff from the lunch/dinner menu. They offer mostly comfort food with New York theme - which is super great.  Price is okay too - even the bar list. That's a win.

These are the stuff we've tried so far from the last 2 trips.  Pretty sure we will be back.

Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup - This. Is. Amazeballs.  'Nuff said except best way to eat it is to dunk it!

Grilled Portobello Burger - Yummy.  Vegetarian burger that you would want to eat.  The fries is super yum too. (Dunk it in the Tomato Soup :P)

Chile Chicken Burger - Delish.  Mildly spicy chicken burger with Monterey Jack cheese.  I love the corn slaw but the best part is the Brioche bun! Yum!

Praline Pecan Waffle - I normally do not go for waffles but this one is so yummy.  The warm waffle and the ice cream is perfect!

This is not from Borough.  This is from Wildflour Cafe.  We went  there after breakfast to try their cronut but we were advised that it will be available at 11a so we just looked at all the pastries they have available - freshly made and decided we will get these two.

Coconut Cupcake and S'mores Cupcake. Only half of each cake was eaten by me and Noel because it was too sweet - but still very delicious.  We took the rest home. :)

Turning 30

Thursday, June 27, 2013

In less than 24 hours I am turning 30.

The last 24 have been a blur of things happening that I have been overthinking since forever. I got news of something that could totally be a good thing- an absolutely great thing.  Something that I have prayed about for a long time. But I am scared.  I have been in this situation before- I have been here several times and I am scared that the danggling carrot in front of me will be pulled back again.  I guess I just have to believe that God has plans for me. I need to trust Him.  I trust Him.

I am grateful.  Scared but grateful.

I am 30! Wow.

Goodbye Toothache.

Saturday, June 22, 2013

Finally got my stinking bothersome wisdom tooth taken out yesterday!  It was a relief that it will never be a problem anymore.  I was really scared before the surgery because it had been a couple of weeks since the date I should've taken care of it and the gums must have healed already making it even more impacted than before.  Plus, the surgery was a bit pricey so that kinda made me not want to do it anymore- but alas, my fear of further infection and low tolerance for pain got me thinking straight and had it removed.  Thank you to my really good dentist, Doc Elaine! The surgery wasnt that bad or uncomfortable.  Post op was a bit painful but thats to be expected.  Everything is fine now and just need to go back after a week for check up and my painful tooth saga will be gone forever. Yay.

I did take my tooth home, in an ity bity ziploc bag because I wanted to look at the nasty thing up close. I could take a picture but really that is just way to icky. So No.

Again, relief! Yay.

Sweet Dreams?

Saturday, June 15, 2013

I have been having a lot of dreams lately. Not the super weird nightmares I got before that totally made me lose my mind but the kind that has all the people I know alternately visiting me during slumber.

It is not something to cry about it is just so unlikely for me to be dreaming about people I barely know and those I haven't seen in a long time everyday for the past week. Really? What the heck?

Gelato Bliss

Monday, June 10, 2013

After the epic fail that is Recovery Food comes the sheer awesomeness of Bar Dolci.  This shop is also in Bonofacio Global City, and granted we waited 3 hours for it to open, every single minute is worth it!!

Look at all these freshly made gelato!!

We could not choose what to try first...

But as I said, it was a good problem to have. Am I right??

We were able to choose several flavors and actually ate 3 rounds!! *yuuum*

So first up, we got 4 different flavors.  I got White Chocolate Wasabi and Brown Butter Pecan and Noel got Ferrero an the most divine Salted Caramel you will ever have. *drool*

For our seconds, we got Extra Dark Chocolate - which I wanted to get the first time - and Hazelnut and Nutella.  The picture shows that we could not wait to taste it!

And last but certainly not the least is Limincello!! It was sooo refreshing, it was the perfect way to end our gelato revenge!!

I am sooo happy we decided to wait for Bar Dolci because it totally turned my sour mood around that day.  I just wish it was not such a long drive from either work or home. This is definitely not my last visit!!

These shiny happy people! :)

Recovery Food.

Sunday, June 9, 2013

I have been dying to try Recovery Food because I saw a lot of really good reviews about it.  Even a bunch of people I know seem to like their food so much that I ticked it as a must try.  Yesterday I finally got the chance.  Since it is Saturday, my friend Noel and I drove to Bonifacio High Street early in the morning to eat our usual Saturday breakfast there and I am sorry to say I got really disappointed.

There wasn't really a lot of choices, especially for Noel who doesn't eat pork, beef, rice and anything that has mayonnaise in it. We did order some things that I thought would be impossible to be bad.

Cheese Sticks. - this is good.  But really, how can deep fried cheese not be awesome?  Oh and with Sriracha, it was even better.

Happy Chicken Arroz Caldo.  - I love arroz caldo but I think my dad cooks a better version than this.  I didn't finish this bowl and the chicken in this arroz caldo is adobo chunks.  Not what I wanted.

Joe Pho.  - the soup is okay and the noodles were springy.  It was okay but not something that I would crave for in the future.  There are definitely better Pho out there.

Barcia's Strips.  - because I was totally underwhelmed by the food we were eating, I ordered this because it looks like bacon and if there is anything that could make great things that aren't particularly good, it is bacon- am I right?  Well this is not bacon. It is thin strips of pork that has been floured and fried.  Not Bacon.

So needless to say, I was not very happy with this food trip. It could be because I ordered all the wrong things but I am for sure never going back here.

June

Sunday, June 2, 2013

Oh gosh its June!  In less than 30 days I will turn 30.  How in the world did that happen? I have yet to decide how I feel about that particular fact. It is 2am and I am thinking about turning 30 - I should just get more sleep.

Inferno

Monday, May 27, 2013

So last week there was such a media buzz about some of my fellow Filipinos being offended with the new book of Dan Brown Inferno where Manila was called "gateway to hell".  There was even a blurb in the local news tv about it. Naturally, I wanted to see what was the fuss about.  I read the book and really- I feel some people are overreacting!!

I actually liked the book.  It was a typical Dan Brown novel where Robert Langdon try to save mankind! :) Its fiction. Clearly, it's fiction.

Weekend!

Friday, May 24, 2013

It's Saturday and I have nothing planned as usual.  I have 2 books I want to finish ans a couple of movies to catch.  My life. Maybe I can do it tomorrow?  For now, I sleep.

toothache and a crush.

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

Over the weekend until yesterday I have had some serious hair pulling toothache! I think I tried everything to find relief but it was a real struggle until I was able to visit the dentist- which didnt solve the problem completely.  :(

I tried painkillers, garlic, ice, vapor rub on the side of the cheeks and toothache drops. There is really nothing more painful that toothache in my opinion. Tomorrow, I will visit the dentist again to hopefully find permanent relief. Crossing my fingers that I do not need surgery. :(

In other news... I started watching Da Vinci's Demons and boy am I hooked!

I am majorly crushing over Tom Riley! I mean who wouldn't??

So, thats what I have been upto lately.. :)
